Don has been photographing weddings & portraits in Virginia since 1980. He earned his Certified Professional Photographers degree in 1984 and his Master of Photography degree in 1995. He has won countless awards in Virginia and National competition, including Best in Show for his photo-journalism entry entitled “End of the Line.”
That image scored a perfect 100 in state competition, received Best in Show in Virginia, and hung in PPA’s International Loan Collection at Epcot Center. His image “Grounded” also received highest honors, and was included in the International Loan Collection and published in March, 2008 in  PPA magazine. In April, 2008, he photographed author Randy Singer. That image appears in his new novel, “By Reason of Insanity.” Don is one of the founders of Trinity Church in Virginia Beach.  He lives with his wife, Carlynn, and two step-sons, Ashton & Brennan.

Don’s unique style combines a mixture of casually posed & photo-journalistic type images to help capture the beauty and spirit of your wedding day. A mixture of color, black and white, toned, and spot color images are available. Every wedding book is a one-of-a-kind creation. Don lives near the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. That’s where he creates many of his family & children portraits. He prefers to capture the essence of children while they are playing and just being themselves. Mixtures of posed and casual images are created during the 45 minutes session at the beach, your home, or a location of your choice. Most sessions take place one hour prior to sunset. We offer portraits to hang and display in your home, as well as portrait books. Call to schedule a consultation.
